ROLE PURPOSE - JOBS AT THIS LEVEL ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR LEADING STRUCTURAL DISCIPLINE TEAMS INVOLVED IN THE PREPARATION AND CO-ORDINATION OF DESIGN AND/OR DETAIL DRAWINGS. THE LEAD ENGINEER MAY WORK WITH MORE THAN ONE PROJECT TEAM SIMULTANEOUSLY. AS A DISCIPLINE LEADER, AN ENGINEER WILL ALSO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF AN INDIVIDUAL DISCIPLINE.
ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA AND DESIRED ATTRIBUTES - LEAD, SUPERVISE AND GUIDE STRUCTURAL DISCIPLINE TEAMS IN THE PREPARATION AND CO-ORDINATION OF DESIGN AND/OR DETAIL DRAWINGS ENSURING. DEADLINES ARE MET AND THAT WORK IS COMPLETED TO THE REQUIRED QUALITY STANDARDS. PROGRAM, PLAN AND CO-ORDINATE ALL PROJECT ACTIVITIES INCLUDING THE PROVISION OF DESIGN AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION, ENSURING ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS AND DELIVERY WITHIN SCHEDULE AND ALLOCATED MANPOWER BUDGET APPLY ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS TO DEVELOP DESIGN CONCEPT ENSURING THAT ALL ASPECTS ARE TECHNICALLY SOUND AND COMPATIBLE WITH BRIEF. DEVELOP SOLUTIONS TO COMPLEX DESIGN PROBLEMS USING INITIATIVE AND OWN ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE. PROVIDE SUPERVISION AND GUIDANCE ON ALL DESIGN TECHNICAL MATTERS. REVIEW AND RESOLVE INTERDISCIPLINARY DESIGN AND TECHNICAL ISSUES TO ENSURE THE MOST EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT DESIGN IS ADOPTED. COMMUNICATE WITH DESIGN COORDINATOR AND OTHER LEAD DESIGN ENGINEERS TO ENSURE DESIGN PROCEEDS ACCORDING TO PLAN. PROVIDES DESIGN AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE IN INSTANCES WHERE MODIFICATIONS OR VARIATIONS ARE NECESSARY. LIAISE WITH CLIENT, SITE PERSONNEL AND OTHER DEPARTMENTS TO ENSURE THAT DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION ASPECTS ARE ADDRESSED AND RESOLVED. MONITOR PROGRESS AND PREPARE REGULAR REPORTS FOR MANAGEMENT, ADDRESSING ANY SIGNIFICANT VARIANCES IN MANPOWER BUDGET EXPENDITURE TOGETHER WITH RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CORRECTIVE ACTION, IF NECESSARY. GENERATE 3D MODELS OF STEEL AND CONCRETE STRUCTURES IN AECOSIM BUILDING DESIGNER AND REVIT. LEADING PROJECTS IN STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING, MANPOWER PLANNING, PREPARATION OF EDR, PLANNING AND JOB SCHEDULING, PREPARING AND CHECKING OF ENGINEERING CALCULATIONS AND DRAWINGS, COORDINATION WITH VENDORS AND SITE, SUPERVISING JUNIOR ENGINEERS AND DESIGNERS, COORDINATING WITH OTHER DISCIPLINES AND SITE DESIGN ISSUES.
PROFICIENCY IN PERFORMING DETAILED CIVIL AND STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS (Time-History Analysis, Response Spectrum Analysis) AND DESIGN OF BUILDINGS, BLAST RESISTANT BUILDINGS AND CIVIL INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS, EQUIPMENT FOUNDATIONS AND PLATFORMS, RCC AND STEEL STRUCTURES/CONNECTIONS, PIPE RACKS RCC / STRUCTURAL STEEL, PIPE SUPPORTS, PIPE SLEEPERS OF PIPELINE, VESSEL FOUNDATIONS, STACK FOUNDATIONS, TECHNOLOGICAL STRUCTURES, MICROWAVE TOWER, REVAMPING OF EXISTING STRUCTURES, UG FACILITIES, GRADING DRAWINGS,
RETAINING WALLS, PAVING AND ROADS, ROAD CROSSINGS, BASEPLATES AND ANCHOR BOLTS, ETC. PERFORM AND CHECK THE ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF STEEL AND CONCRETE STRUCTURES. STRONG KNOWLEDGE OF LOCAL AUTHORITY REQUIREMENTS AND DEVELOPMENT OF PERTINENT DOCUMENTATION AND DRAWINGS. PROVEN EXPERIENCE IN PREPARATION OF REBAR DETAILING IN DIFFERENT STANDARDS. DEVELOP QUANTITY CALCULATIONS AND MTOs (CONCRETE AND STEEL). HIGHLY SKILLED IN STRUCTURAL STEEL AND PIPING DETAILING. FOLLOW UP OF FABRICATION AND ERECTION STAGES OF STEEL BUILDINGS. DEVELOP AND REVIEW OF SHOP DRAWINGS. CONDUCT TECHNICAL ANALYSIS OF GEOTECHNICAL, TOPOGRAPHIC, HYDROLOGICAL, AND OTHER FIELD DATA REQUIRED FOR PROJECTS DEVELOPMENT AND PREPARE COMPREHENSIVE REPORTS.
SUPERVISE EXTERNAL SUBCONTRACTORS AND SUBCONSULTANTS FOR SPECIALIZED DESIGNS, DEFINE THEIR SCOPE AND COORDINATE THEIR INTERFACE WITH PROJECT DESIGN ASPECTS. TAKE PART IN CONTRACTURAL AGREEMENTS WITH SUBCONTRACTORS, VENDORS, AND SUPPLIERS, AND COORDINATE WITH PROCUREMENT FOR MATERIAL
PURCHASES AND BID EVALUATIONS. ISSUE RECOMMENDATIONS AND LESSONS LEARNT FOR EACH PROJECT AT COMPLETION FOR THE PURPOSE OF ENHANCING PERFORMANCE AND RAISING AWARENESS OF PEERS.
QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
-->B.E. IN CIVIL ENGINEERING; MAJOR: CIVIL, STRUCTURAL AND INFRASTRUCTURE, PUBLIC WORKS.
-->MINIMUM 15-20 YEARS DIVERSIFIED EXPERIENCE IN THE MECHANICAL ENGINEERING FIELD, INCLUDING DESIGN, PROCUREMENT AND SITE EXPERIENCE.
-->PROVEN TEAM LEADERSHIP ABILITY FOR A MINIMUM PERIOD OF 8 YEARS.
-->KNOWLEDGE OF AUTOCAD, REVIT, AECOSIM BUILDING DESIGNER AND MICROSTATION SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS.
-->PROFICIENT IN THE USE OF DRAFTING SOFTWARE TO DEVELOP DRAWINGS.
-->HIGHLY COMPETENT IN SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS RELATED TO CIVIL AND STRUCTURAL SYSTEMS SUCH AS STAAD PRO CONNECT, ROBOT, ETABS, SAP,
