1. Reviewing Scope of Work Documentation, Design Drawings, Technical Specifications and Schedules, preparing accurate Quantity Take-offs and Schedules of Quantities.
2. Preparing accurate Cost Estimates from First Principles including labor, materials and subcontractor items; working under time constraints and ensuring deadlines are met.
3. Attending pre-bid meetings, site visits and undertaking field measurements; Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors on scope, design specifications and estimates
4. Attending to general walk-in enquiries and communicating with Clients in relation to quotations for small projects, plant hire and material sales. Preparing formal proposals and quotations for review.
5. Maintaining and updating a cost database with records of historical direct job costs, unit rates, and costs factors; production time, material requirements and time studies.
6. Compiling handover notes, instructions and forms for new project set up. Preparation of Cost Breakdown Structure and Cost Codes for individual Projects.
7. Assisting Project Managers and Project Engineers with preparation of estimates for variations, value engineering and monitoring actual cost performance against budget.
8. Preparing and compiling Tender Preparation Requests for management approval, and actual Tender Submissions ensuring that all supporting documentation is both up to date and relevant.
9. Preparation of RFQ’s and liaising with Suppliers and Subcontractors for quotations and pricing input in Cost Estimates.
10. Document Control and providing administrative support to the Project Manager, compiling progress claims, contractual correspondence, reports and invoices.
11. Preparing Work Breakdown Structures and Detailed Construction Programs for Cashflow Forecasting
12. Troubleshooting and providing engineering input in other matters as required
