A. Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic, or equivalent
B. Experience:
Shall have at least ten (10) years experience as a Maintenance Engineer or
Maintenance Supervisor, preferably in a position where maintenance of Fire
Detection and Suppression systems, constituted part of the job with four (4)
years of which shall have been devoted with an electric utility company or
similar establishment. Must be familiar with NFPA Test and
Repair/Maintenance Standards and on the different types of fire detection &
protection systems and fire protection equipment
C. Duties and Responsibilities:
1. On a day-to-day basis shall supervise the activities of the Field Technical
crews. Schedules work crew activities in conjunction with the Technical
Aide.
2. Undertakes the development of Maintenance Procedures.
3. Performs random Quality Assurance Inspections of work performed by
Field Crews.
4. Ensures system documentation and drawings are up to date.
5. Acts as trainer for new technicians.
6. Reviews the Inspection & Testing Reports submitted by the Fire Protection
Engineer for accuracy and recommends proper action(s) to be taken
concerning system discrepancies noted or observed by the field crews.
7. Undertakes review/evaluation of existing fixed systems and recommends
actions to be taken to improve system reliability and effectiveness.
8. Undertakes investigation of equipment/system failure(s), provides
recommendation(s) and submits finding/report to COMPANY
REPRESENTATIVE.
9. Conducts safety orientation meeting at the workshop to field crews at
least once a month or as directed by the COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE.
10. Performs other related duties as may be required by the COMPANY
REPRESENTATIVE.
